Here are a few quick reminders for those of you who are staying one or
both nights at Camp Buckhorn for the annual meeting of the Palmetto
Friends Gathering next weekend:
Please bring flashlights!

1. You will need to supply your own bed linens. The rooms have small
heaters, but if we get cold weather, those heaters might not suffice if
you are accustomed to keeping your thermostats set fairly high.
Therefore, you should consider taking an extra blanket or quilt.

2. You will need to bring your own towels, etc.

3. Your Clerk will be bringing some toilet paper, but it wouldn't hurt to
have extra rolls (smile!).

4. The staff at Camp Buckhorn can answer general questions about the
facilities. The phone number is: 244-5565.

5. If you are planning on arriving after 8:00 p.m. on Friday night (which
is not advisable, given the narrow roads), you will need to call me
(320-5067) or Tom (607-6865) to get the code to open the gate.

For those who may not wish cabin facilities, there are two motels in Travelers Rest nearby:

Hampton Inn
503 Roe Center Court
Travelers Rest, SC 29690
(864) 834-5550

Sleep Inn
110 Hawkins Road
Travelers Rest, SC 29690
(864) 834-7040

Passes - Persons staying over at the lodge for the weekend will be given a pass for the whole time. Those coming only for the days will need a new pass each day. The camp closes at 6:00, and we will be given a code to use for people who may come in or have to leave after that time.
There are accommodations for 42 persons and no more are allowed. This consists of 10 cabins with 4 bunk beds each and a room for two in the lodge. One cabin and the lodge are on a level with the parking area and would be accessible for handicapped. Guests must bring their own linens, towels, etc. There is one central unisex bath area and bath and shower facilities in the lodge.
